Joel Wiggins has dedicated his life to building men. He sees “work” that needs done, and then he mobilizes others into action. Wiggins, a native of Kinston, NC, desires to see the body of Christ equipped to do be ambassadors for Christ. Having grown up in the economically challenged environment of a small southern city, Joel says, “We are all called to minister to one another and to the lost. We must use our experiences and influence to impact the lives of others in the marketplace.”
Joel worked his way through college at North Carolina A & T University in Greensboro, NC. Upon graduation in 1995, he began his professional career with Ford Motor Company. Corporate life bode well for Joel, and he received many promotions & accolades for his success. His spirit yearned for more though, and he left the corporate world to spread his entrepreneurial wings. The first taste of entrepreneurship came from managing, then owning several Ford and GM dealerships. The dealerships thrived under Joel’s leadership, earning awards and national recognition for their performance. The fast paced environment of the automotive industry kept Joel on the top his game, and the knowledge he acquired made him a highly sought after consultant to other dealers as well. In 2004, Joel received revelation that the key to a successful society is Family and godly Men. He created and developed a series of initiatives that would later evolve into the mPowerdigm Collective: events & activities created to uplift communities and enhance the family. These events include Get on The Bus, Father Daughter Dances, Men & Boys Outing, Couple’s Date Night, Mother-Son Balls and more. Along with this new revelation came a new vision. Staying true to his entrepreneurial roots, Joel formed John David Custom Direct Sellers in 2006. John David Custom took the approach of serving the “whole man,” offering not only custom suiting and shirting, but also image consulting and business development workshops. In November 2007, he christened “The Empowerment Hour with Joel Wiggins” radio show. Thousands of listeners tuned in daily to the powerful broadcast. Topics included marriage and relationships, business development, health issues, and authentic manhood. Under the John David Enterprise, several other visions were launched, including the John David Man, Kingmakers Academy and John David Custom Direct Sellers. Joel’s desire is to reach the hearts of men and equip them with the tools and resources they need to go out and be a light in the world which launched mPowerdigm a discipleship company for men. Joel serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations including Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Triangle, YMCA of the Triangle, and the A.E. Finley Advisory Board. He is an eloquent keynote speaker, and has been featured on several television and radio programs.
Joel resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and children.
